Program structure

Students, in order to successfully complete the program are required to attend lectures as well as to conduct a Master Thesis. The program consists of 8 modules (60 credits) and the Thesis (30 credits). Students can undertake up to 4 modules in a semester.

The program is available to study full time or part time. For full time study the duration for completion is 3 semesters or one and a half calendar year. Course modules are delivered through the first (2) semesters and students’ attendance is compulsory, whilst Master’s Thesis is expected to be conducted in the third (3) semester. For part time study the duration for completion is 6 semesters. Part time study is mainly offered to students who may wish to combine academic study with work or other commitments.

The teaching process of each taught module consists of:

  1. A series of at least 13 weekly lectures offered at the facilities of the Department at Psachna, Euboea.
  2. Modern digital distant learning activities through relevant platform
  3. Individual and/or group coursework conducted under the guidance and the supervision of the teaching staff.
Part-time studies

Part time study lasts 6 semesters. In every semester (winter/spring), the modules that are selected to be taught may not exceed the amount of 16 credits (ECTS). Master thesis is conducted in the last 2 semesters.

Academic schedule and Program attendance
  1. Every semester consists of 15 weeks, from which a minimum of 13 weeks of lectures must be carried out.
  2. Every taught module consists of (3) hours of lecture and a coursework per week. The taught modules of the program are delivered through a combination of one or more of the following :
    • Lectures
    • Seminars
    • Tutorials, coursework και laboratory work.
    • Study and Analysis of relevant literature.
  3. The teaching process of each taught module consists of:
      3.a  A series of at least 13 weekly lectures offered at the facilities of the Department at Psachna, Euboea.
      3.b  Modern digital distant learning activities through relevant platform.
      3.c  Individual and group coursework that are conducted under the guidance and the supervision of the teaching professor.
  4. Student performance is assessed by:
    4.a   coursework and individual project
    4.b   3 days intensive session of written exams, held at the end of each semester (January and June). In September students can retake an exam they failed to pass in one of the previous semesters.
  5. Attending lectures is compulsory. In case a student is absent from a lecture, it will be excused only if its due to an unavoidable cause. In no case a student can be absent in more than 1/5 of the total number of class hours of that particular course. If a student exceeds that limit, then she/he may re-take that taught module only one more time in the next possible semester, given the approval from General Assembly of the department. The student is also obliged to pay the corresponding fee for that module which is equivalent to 1/12 of the total fees paid for the program.
